Merlin
Oh shiny happy place of Arthuriana, how longingly I await you! I've been rewatching the end of the first series, and while I continue to be mystified at the putting down of sorceresses and old religions and the continued existence of Gaius, I really do heart this show. This is a chance for slash fandom to play with real, hard, culturally significant mythology - and there's nothing not excellent about that. Not to mention all those gorgeous new stills of Gwen being finally - finally! - styled well.
House
Mental institution! Married Chase and Cameron! (Chase and Chase? I hope not!)Wilson's LLB! The fact that the first episode seems to be House n Wilson alone, in the mental institution, just to two of them and their big gay lurve!
Dollhouse
I'm very dubious about this one. I don't feel that the later eps of the first season corrected any of the show's egregious rapeyness, and it feels like bugs crawling up my skin sometimes, and it makes me so angry. But I'm hoping that Joss will start taking the show seriously, now that it's a second season work, not just a little trifle destined for cancellation. Especially now that he's got Summer Glau and Alexis Denisof signed up - I can't imagine him writing as badly for Summer as he's written for Eliza, I just can't. So I continue to watch, from between my fingers, with hope.

Supernatural
Guys, don't even mention this one to me. We are so broken up it's not even funny. I just can't go anymore with a guy that doesn't respect me!
Stargate Universe
As if. I might be a new convert to the franchise, but I wasn't born yesterday.
Anything you guys think I really need to pick up?

Date: 2009-09-08 08:42 pm (UTC)Have you seen any Being Human? It's my other show-love at the moment. A vampire, a werewolf and a ghost being housemates. It blends the dark & the humourous in a great way, I think.

Date: 2009-09-10 06:52 pm (UTC)I was so pleased when I found out there was going to be a Stargate that I might actually be able to watch while it aired (or, y'know, on the internet later because I don't GET "syfy"). And then I found out about SGU's EPIC FAIL, and I'm not sure how badly I want to jump into a show that's pissed me off before it airs.
Re: watching
Ooh, Summer and Alexis are coming to Dollhouse? That might be fun.
Re: suggestions
Sadly, I have very little to offer. Castle is a yes, because Fillion is kickass, but it's, y'know, primarily a pseudo-crime-drama show, so there's not really a meaty arc there. But Fillion is awesome, and Castle's daughter and Mom are fun.
I'm also thinking about FlashForward, but it sounds kinda pretentious. It feels like Lost or The 4400 to me, something that's fun for the first season.
Personally, I'm doing a lot of watching of tv shows via Hulu and Netflix. SGA, SG1, Avatar, etc.
Though, oh God, Torchwood: Children of Earth was heartbreaking and wonderful and painful and very good and did I mention heartbreaking and painful?

Date: 2009-09-11 04:09 pm (UTC)I think that even if I wanted to watch SGU, I'd have to abstain in solidarity with the SGA girls who got their show killed out from under them. Not on, PTB!
