because the world is round it turns me on

How many songs total: 6834
How many hours or days of music: 39.9 days
(Really a lot of my iTunes is Books/Spoken Word, between podfic and librivox and my since-I-was-a-wee-child addiction to fiction read aloud. I don't have an easy way to sort them out, because my iTunes is functional but cluttered, so they are included in the above count - but not in any of the below questions, for reasons. Because this is about music, y'all.)
Most recently played: Regina Spektor, "Us"
this is playing right now on my "thel" playlist - my pls are named after spices & Blake characters when they're mood-based, and with fandom-specific keywords when they're for reading/writing a fandom. "thel" is my open-heart/tranquility mix, grouping songs that make me feel open, peaceful, safe, energized, and quietly active. I first heard this song in Lim's vid, and it will always be a fannish anthem in my head.
Most played: Mumford and Sons, "The Cave"
So I kind of have a THING with this song. First, there's the banjo. My daddy plays the banjo, and it is the safest most welcome sound in the world to my ears - but the lyrics are what really kill me. I tend to "read" this song in a way that broadens it out from the individual - it's very political in my head, very much about working to subvert and abandon privilege. "find strength in pain" yes, but also crucially "change my ways."
Most recently added: "Alien," Sea of Bees
I haven't even listened to this album yet, I am hoarding it because I loved "Songs of the Raven" SO. MUCH.
Sort by song title.
First Song: "Aaj Ki Raat," A. R. Rahman
from the Slumdog Millionaire soundtrack - but I still love him best for Lagaan!
Last Song: "1913 Massacre," Woody Guthrie
oh Woody <3 <3 <3
Sort by time.
Shortest Song: Tegan and Sara, "Bye" (0:05)
Longest Song: Ravi Shankar, "Om Namah Shivaya" (31:34)
This is one of my favorite tracks EVER. Due to the length, the mantra really expands through your mind and body. The instrumentation leads you in; it's perfect for sudden anxiety surges, but also active-sounding enough that I'll sometimes use it when I need to work with intense focus for a while.
Sort by album. Assuming they mean entire album:
First album: Abbey Road, like everyone else :)
Last album: Ana Tijoux, 1977
Someone on dreamwidth got me on to Ana Tijoux - THANK YOU WHOEVER YOU ARE, SHE IS THE MOST BOSS.
First song that comes up on Shuffle: Pete Seeger, "8 Hour Day"
<3 Pete :)
